Helix Trio
In 2024, the Helix Trio was named FestClásica’s 2025 Emerging Ensemble, a distinction that secured their presence at some of Spain’s most prestigious festivals throughout 2025. Additionally, they were awarded Second Prize at the 2024 "Premi BBVA de Música de Cambra Montserrat Alavedra" in Catalonia, and the Filippo Nicosia Prize in Italy—a recognition that includes a concert tour across the country. These achievements build upon earlier accolades, such as the 2022 ORPHEUS Swiss Chamber Music Competition and the 2023 "La Flama" Competition in Barcelona, consolidating the trio’s reputation as one of the most promising ensembles of their generation.
Formed in 2022 at the Hochschule für Musik FHNW Basel, the Helix Trio comprises Jaume Angelès Fité (violin), Iago Domínguez Eiras (cello), and Paula Belzunegui Moreno (piano). They are currently pursuing an Ergänzungsstudium program under the tutelage of renowned professors including Anton Kernjak, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Zoltán Fejérváry, Silvia Simionescu, and Anna Gebert. Their artistic development is further guided by Patrick Jüdt and Johannes Meissl.
Since 2023, the Helix Trio has been a member of ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) and is part of the Le Dimore del Quartetto network, allowing them to engage with a high-level international musical environment.
The trio has been invited to perform at festivals such as the Piano Trio Fest (Bern), the Swiss Chamber Music Festival (Adelboden), and the Musikdorf Ernen Festival. In 2023, they made their debut at the prestigious Palau de la Música Catalana, followed by a performance at L’Auditori de Barcelona in 2024. In Spain, they have appeared at major festivals and venues, including Música en Segura, Festival ClasClás, Festival ASISA de Villaviciosa de Odón, MUSEG, Quincena Musical de San Sebastián, Quincena Andante, Musikaldia de Zarautz, Festival de Pollença, Música a les Masos, Festival Internacional de Santander, Otoño Musical Soriano, Festival de Música Española de Cádiz, Teatre de Sabadell, Teatre de Tarragona, and FRINGE Torroella de Montgrí, among others.
