Daniel Bertomeu

Daniel (2008), began his piano studies at the age of six in the Professional Conservatory of Music El Musical in Bellaterra with Daniel Ligorio, where he also studied Composition. He has furthered his piano training at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music in Vienna and is currently studying at the Institut Royal Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie de Namur con Philippe Raskin with Philippe Raskin.

He has won national and international piano competitions in his category, including First Prize at the César Franck International Piano Competition (Belgium), First Prize at the MozArte International Piano Competition Aachen (Germany), First Prize at the Santa Cecilia International Piano Competition Junior Oporto (Portugal), First Prize at the Concurso Internacional Compositores de España along with the Special Prize for the best interpretation of Spanish music, First Prize at the María Herrero International Piano Competition in Granada in both the children's and youth categories, and the Hotchkiss School Connecticut Special Prize, Gold Hands at the Carles & Sofia International Piano Competition, and the Prize for the best performance of Mompou, Bach and Rachmaninoff, First Absolute Prize at the "José Porta" International Piano Competition, First Prize at the "Diputación Albacete" National Piano Competition, First Prize at the BBVA Catalan Individual Talent Competition, First Prize at the IV Young Soloists Competition of the URV Symphony Orchestra, among others.

He has performed and auditioned at Carnegie Hall in New York (Weill Recital Hall), Concertgebouw Brugge, the BNP Paribas Fortis Kanselarij Auditorium (Brussels), Ehrbar Saal (Vienna), La Sucrerie (Wavre), Elfers Hall (Connecticut), the Hammerklavier Piano Series (Girona), the Basílica de Santa María in Portugalete, the Crypt of the Hermitage in Cambrils, the 41st edition of the La Antigua Music Festival in Zumarraga, the Sociedad Coral de Bilbao, the Reial Monestir de Pedralbes in Barcelona, the Auditori Josep Viader in Girona, the Auditori La Fact Terrassa, the 11th Maria Vilardell Viñas Young Talents Festival at Juventudes Musicales de Moià, and the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi, among others.

He has participated in masterclasses with Arcadi Volodos, Leonel Morales, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Álvaro Texieira Lopes, Boaz Sharon, Vicenzo Balzani, Antonio Di Cristofano, Oxana Yablonskaya, Fabio & Gisele Witkowski, Judith Jáuregui, Alba Ventura, María Jesús Crespo, Michel Bourdoncle, among others.
