Born in 1994, Edgar Moreau was awarded the Rostropovich Competition in 2009, the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2011, and the Competition for Young Concert Artists in 2014. He studied with Philippe Muller at the CNSM in Paris and furthered his studies with Frans Helmerson in Kronberg. At the age of 11 he made his debut with the Orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin performing Dvorak's cello concerto. 

Edgar has performed in the world's most prestigious halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Hollywood Ball in Los Angeles, the Philharmonie in Paris and the Philharmonie in Paris, the Philharmonie in Paris and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, La Scala in Milan, La Fenice in Venice, the Wigmore Hall, among others.

He has also participated in renowned music festivals such as Verbier, Salzburg, Gstaad, Tannay, Montreux, Tsinandali, Edinburgh, Saint-Denis, Chorégies d'Orange, Menton, Colmar and Lugano.  

Edgar regularly collaborates with orchestras such as the Orchestra Nationale de Santa Cecilia, London Symphony, London Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Seattle Symphony, LuzernerSinfonieOrchester, Orchestre de Paris, Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de France, Brussels Philharmonic, Antwerpen Symphony, Munich Philharmonic, Malher Chamber Orchestra, WDR Cologne, Israel Philharmonic, Filarmonica della Scala, Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic or the Simón Bolívar Orchestra.

Chamber music also occupies a special place in his career. His collaborators include Martha Argerich, Yo-Yo Ma, Renaud Capuçon, David Kadouch, Khatia Buniatishvili, Nicholas Angelich, Andras Schiff, Emmanuel Pahud, Lisa Batiashvili, Alexey Volodin, Bertrand Chamayou, as well as his brothers and sister, also musicians. 

In the 23/24 season, he made his debut with the New York Philharmonic, performing Haydn's concerto no. 1, under the direction of the New York Philharmonic. 1 by Haydn, conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, his debut with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Daniel Harding, two recitals in Paris (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées), a tour with the Israel Camerata, as well as appearances with the Hamburg Symphony, MDR Leipzig, Quebec Symphony, Milan Symphony or Basel Sinfonie.

Edgar has released several albums throughout his career. In 2014, Edgar released his first album entitled 'Play', in collaboration with pianist Pierre-Yves Hodique. This was followed by 'Giovincello', a series of baroque concertos with the ensemble Il Pomo d'Oro and Riccardo Minasi, which also received the ECHO Classik award in 2016. In 2017, he released a disc of Debussy sonatas and trios and recorded a duo recital with David Kadouch dedicated to Franck, Poulenc, Strohl and De la Tombelle. He has also participated in recordings of Offenbach and Gulda with Les Forces Majeures and Raphaël Merlin, and with Renaud Capuçon and Bertrand Chamayou performing Saint-Saëns' piano trios. In 2020, he will release 'A Family Affair', an album recorded with his brothers with music by Dvorak and Korngold, and 'Transmission', an album celebrating the Hebrew musical heritage through works by Bloch, Bruch, Korngold and Ravel in collaboration with the LuzernerSinfonieOrchester and Michael Sanderling. In 2025, he will release "Around the world", in collaboration with several long-standing artists of diverse musical influences. 

Edgar Moreau plays a 1711 cello by David Tecchler, and a bow by Dominique Peccatte.
